Updates....

I apologize for not updating Addison's blog sooner. We have been so busy, and I completely spaced it all together!!

Things are going great here. Addison is getting bigger every day! Her 4 month stats were:

Weight: 15 lbs 5 oz
Height: 25 1/4 inches

She is eating like a little piglet! She now eats about 8-10 oz every 4 hours. Plus, she gets cereal once a day and a jar of either fruit or veggie. She still has her mommy's appetite!! Not only does she eat a lot, but she "talks" a lot too. She just jabbers and jabbers. It is so funny when she gets to jabbering and she starts making facial expressions too. We think she must have some important stuff to say.

In other news, we have decided to cloth diaper. I know everyone thinks we are crazy, but after discussing it over and over, we have decided to give it a go. I am very excited about it. The last of the diapers arrived today, so we will start this weekend. We are only planning on doing it part time right now, but if I get the hang of it, then we may branch out to doing it full time. We'll see.
I will be posting pictures of Addison wearing her new dipes as well. They are so cute even though they make her have a huge tush!!

Addison's 6 month pictures are scheduled for July 25th, and we will have family pictures taken then as well, so be watching for those in the next few weeks.

Love ya!

Addie learns to talk....

Addison has recently discovered that she has a voice. She now like to talk to anything and everything that will listen to her. She has a mirror in the car, and she talks to herself. She talks to the animals on her swing and her toy cow. It is so funny. If I only knew what she was talking about!!

We are still alive.....

Yay! I am 3 months old!
I love my Miracle Blanket!
Telling mommy stories....
Waiting patiently to be swaddled for bed
I love when mommy takes pictures of me.
We have been extremely busy lately, so I haven't been keeping on top of this whole blogging thing. I have taken a few new pictures, so I will post those today.

We were blessed with a visit from my aunt & uncle (who live in Seattle) last Friday. It was nice to get to see them even for a short time. I am disappointed that I completely forgot to take pictures. I don't think I have regained my pre-pregnancy brain yet. I sometimes wonder if it will ever come back!!

We have a going away party to attend tonight, and tomorrow we are BBQ-ing with some friends at their house. Then next weekend (my very 1st Mother's Day!!) we are going to Norfolk for the weekend, because Tim's cousin, his wife, and their daughter will be in town from Wyoming. They have a little girl Aubrey that was born just about 2 months after Addison. I will take plenty of pictures to show them off together!!

Addison is doing great. She has discovered her jumperoo and loves it. Well for about 5 minutes. She has been having a growth spurt, and was waking up 3-4 times a night to eat. One night she drank 23 1/2 oz of formula in 12 hours!! I called our pedi to ask if we could start cereal, but she said no. We have to wait til Addie is 4 months.

She still loves her miracle blanket and gets swaddled for every nap and every night for bed. I will post a pic of her in it below.

No exciting news here.........

Addie J. turns 3 months old.....

tomorrow! Yay! I can't believe how time flies!! We had Addison's 3 month pictures taken last Saturday at Portrait Innovations. They turned out great, and we had such a hard time picking out which ones to buy.

Work is going great. Things are starting to settle down and the kids are getting into a routine. However, Ava & Dylan just don't know what to make of Addison. They can't keep their hands off of her, and I can't turn my back for a second. They pull her hair, poke her in the eyes, pull her socks off, and try to crawl right over her. My poor girl just doesn't know what to do! I tried to upload a video of them but it didn't work. Darn.

I am going to attach some of Addison's 3 month pictures. I think most of you have seen them already, but I thought I should add some for those who might not have.

Isn't she just a doll?

Yay for the Miracle Blanket!!

So Addie's miracle blanket arrived on Friday afternoon, and we have used it every night since. It is amazing. She loves it. You can see it at www.miracleblanket.com. There is an instructional video and it looks a little scary, but it really does work wonders. Totally worth the $30. We have been getting quite a bit more sleep, and Addison has been sleeping on her back!! I will take a picture of her in it one of these days. We had her in it tonight, but unfortunately I think her eyes were bigger than her stomach, and she ended up getting sick all over the place. So no miracle blanket tonight. We will have to use the back up SwaddleMe blanket. Its just not the same.

No pictures tonight either. I took so many last week that I decided I'd better take a break this week. Addison gets her 3 month photos taken this coming Saturday at 1:30, so I will post a sample for you to see. We are trying out Portrait Innovations. I have heard really great things about them, so I guess we will see.

Work is going great!! I can't believe how easy it has really been. I think the worst part has been the lack of adult conversation but that will soon cease. My friend Stefani (also a nanny) will be coming over for play dates starting tomorrow. Lets be honest... Her kid is about 14 months and mine are 8 months & 3 months, so I doubt there will be a lot of playing together. Its more for our sanity than anything.

My mom and grandma came to visit Addie on Sunday. It was great to see them. We did a little visiting and a little shopping. I found some cute books & pj's for Addie at Gordman's. I got quite the deal!!

Well I hope everyone is doing well. I need to go rock the peanut...

Updates...

I haven't had much to post lately. I am finally settling into a routine at work. It's getting easier everyday. We have our first "play date" this coming Tuesday. My friend Stefani (she is a nanny also) is bringing over her 14 month old to play. Lets be honest... Its really a play date for Stef and I, because the kids won't play together. I need some adult conversation or I will lose my sanity.

Addison has done an ok job sleeping on her back at night. Our miracle blanket should hopefully arrive Saturday or Monday, so I will definitely post on how that works out. We have been swaddling her everynight, and then placing her in her sleep positioner. She seems to like it. I think its because it keeps her so tight and cozy. It still isn't anything compared to her 6-7 hours of sleep on her tummy but it works for now.

She has been smiling like crazy lately. We took a video of her last night, because she was trying to eat her burp cloth. Tim will rub it across her lips and she will smile and coo. Well she decided that it might be good to munch on. Tim was holding it up, and she actually leaned forward to it, got it in her mouth, and started trying to suck on it. It was pretty funny.

She has discovered her fists. You can hear her sucking on them all the time. They are always wet and slobbery. I don't think it will be long before she discovers her thumb. Although its a bad habit to start I think it will help her at night. She will take a pacifier (We call it a sassy) but not for long periods of time.

Well all is well here. I have more pictures to post. Hope you enjoy them!

** Ok, so the photo function isn't working at this time, so I will try again tomorrow.***

Addie J goes to work.....

Addie J tries out her new "Big Girl" high chair

and her bumbo!
Such a happy little girl!!
The 3 Amigos!
Addie J, Ava, Dylan

Addie J and I are slowly adjusting to the working life. I think both of us would rather be

sitting at home cuddling! :-)

It's only been 2 days but it seems like 2 weeks. I am sure it will get better

as soon as I adjust to the twins schedule and as soon as Addie J gets into

some sort of routine.

I posted Monday that we are trying to transition her from tummy sleeping

to back sleeping, and so far..... she still hates back sleeping.

We ordered a new baby gadget called, The Miracle Blanket. It is the Lexus of

swaddling blankets, and I have heard wonderful things abou it, so we are going to give it a try.

I will let you all know how it goes!

Addie's 2 Month Appointment....

Addison's appointment went as well as could be expected. She was a trooper!! We are so proud of her!!

Unfortunately I am not sure what her weight is. They told us 14 lbs, but on her sheet they wrote 13 lbs. So she might be 13 or she might be 14, but either way, she is growing like a weed!! She has now grown to 23 inches in length too.

Tomorrow Addie and I go back to work. It's bittersweet. I am excited to see the twins, but scared about how I will manage 3 infants. Especially Addison, because she is so used to getting my full attention. We are also facing the challenge of transitioning her from tummy sleeping to back sleeping, so I am sure she will be a fussy baby for the next week or two. Unfortunately, Addison has just never liked sleeping on her back from day 1. She sleeps great on her tummy, however, she is now entering the age that is at the "highest" risk for SIDS. A terrifying thought. So Tim & I will start the transition tonight, and we will let you all know how is goes.

On a lighter note... The picture I am posting tonight was taken of Addison in the hospital, and it is by far one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Take care,

Jessica

So sick....

No pictures for today. I came down with a wicked sore throat on Tuesday night and it has progressively gotten worse. I got in to see the doctor this morning and they tested me for strep and mono. Both came back negative (good news) but they decided that I have a viral infection and there isn't anything they can do for it (bad news). So I have been trying every home remedy to ease the pain. It feels as though my entire throat is just raw. I can barely talk or swallow. Ugh!

Tim took the afternoon off to care for myself and Addie J. My mom was going to come to hang out tomorrow but she has had the flu (and various other symptoms) for about a week and 1/2 now. So unfortunately she won't make it up to see us. Sad.

Addie J goes in for her 2 month appointment on Monday. I am terrified, because I know she will be getting her shots. I am quite sure that I will cry along with her. Poor girl. We are excited to find out how much she has grown since her 2 week visit. We didn't have a 1 month appointment so it has been quite a while since she has been weighed, etc. I think she is pretty close to moving up to her size 2 diapers, and she is growing up so fast that we have started packing away a lot of her newborn and size 0-3 month clothes already.

Take care!

Mommy's Little Super Model

I bought Addie her first pair of shades this week. They are a little big, but they still keep the sun out of her little eyes (and they look cool of course! ). So far she doesn't seem to mind them much. I think she looks fabulous!!

And yes.... Tim thinks I am crazy!

Addison is 2 months old!!

Addie J turned 2 months old today! I can't believe how time flies. She is getting so big!

I went to babysit the twins yesterday, and I took Addison with me. It wasn't as chaotic as I expected, but I am defintely in for a challenge. The twins are getting big and are very mobile now. They aren't crawling but they have perfected the "roll" quite well. I won't be able to turn my back for a second. Ava kept trying to squeeze Addie's face, and Dylan just about rolled onto her head a couple times. The poor thing doesn't know what she's in for! I hope we both survive.

We all went out to Camp Kataki today to celebrate Easter with some friends of ours. They have a little boy who will be 3 in August, and he just loves Addison to death. He says, "Addison is my very best friend". So cute! I took a picture of Addison with Brayden. It turned out better than I expected.

Addison has basically stopped taking naps during the week. I am not sure what her deal is but she just sleeps 5-10 minutes here and there. Well, it always catches up with her on the weekends, and today she slept the majority of the day. If I had to guess, I would say that she was probably only awake 2 hours from 8:30 ish (am) until 10 (pm). What a sleepy head. She did keep her eyes open long enough for me to snap a few 2 month pictures, but she had a hard time keeping her eyes of the ceiling fan.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!!

Addie J's 1st Trip to the Easter Bunny!!!

Today I took Addie J to see the Easter Bunny. Ok, so obviously it was more for me than it was for her, because she has no clue who the Easter Bunny is (or isn't for that matter). She did great though considering we had to stand in line for about 20 minutes. Who would have thought there'd be a line at noon on a Thursday??

I dressed her in her Easter dress since we aren't really doing anything for Easter. I figured she might as well get some use out of it. I found it at Target on clearance for $4, so I won't feel guilty is she only gets to wear it twice. It is pretty cute. I will post more pictures of it later.

Take care & have a Happy Easter!!!

Mommys Lil' Cup O' Tea.....

I found this adorable tea cup (actually a planter) at Walmart today. I couldn't resist buying it, so I could take Addison's picture in it. I swear I am traumatizing my kid by taking so many pictures of her. She is just so cute. I can't resist it. She isn't even 2 months old yet, and I have already taken more than 300 pictures. :-)

We still have 4 more babies that we are patiently waiting on. Keith & Lyndsy are scheduled for a c-section on April 4th. They have named their little guy Cooper, and we can't wait to meet him!! Following Cooper will be the arrivals of "baby" Robertson, "baby" Schroder, and finally "baby" Perkins (who isn't due until October). So many babies this year.....

Addison will be 2 months old on Easter. We can't believe how much she is growing!! I am eagerly awaiting her 2 month pedi appointment on the 31st, so we can find out how much our little bean weighs. She definitely has her mommy's appetite!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!

Today we celebrated the birth of Aubrey Joy Book. The 2nd girl born into Tim's family in 26 years next to Addison. We are more than happy to welcome her into the family, and we can't wait to meet her!

Since things are finally starting to settle down, we are now trying to get into a routine before I return to work. I am excited to return but extremely nervous to see how it is going to go. Having 8 month old twins and a 2 month will be quite challenging. I hope I am up to it.

Tim's mom will be coming to visit this Friday, so Tim & I will be taking advantage of her offer to babysit and go on our first post baby date. Yay!
