Today, Addison used the potty for the first time with a little encouragement from mommy. I was so excited, and of course I made a huge deal out of it. She got lots of claps and kisses!! No, I am sorry but I didn't take any weird pictures for your viewing enjoyment. :-)
We did call daddy on the phone afterward to tell him all about it, and she actually said hello to to him as well. She will normally not say hello when someone is actually on the phone. She prefers to wait until I hang up the phone.
She also got some great gifts this week. Great-grandma M. was up on Tuesday (with my mom), and she bought Addison a Valentine's Day bear. It is really cute, and Addison just loves to give it kisses over and over.
Great-grandma & Great-grandpa P. sent her a little board book. The book has a bunch of pictures of other babies, and Addison just looks at the babies and laughs. Sometimes I think she is trying to have a conversation with them as well. Silly girl.

Yay for milestones!
Addison has discovered that she can say please! She really says "peas" but hey it works. She has been signing please for a while (when she wants to) but yesterday she really said it.
This happened yesterday: I was on the floor on my stomach and she was next to me cuddling. She started rubbing my back and saying please! For those of you that aren't familiar with signing... the sign for please is rubbing your stomach in a circular motion. So, she definitely gets it.
She has also started giving kisses to everything in sight. Last night I turned and caught her kissing my slippers. She puts stuff up to her mouth and goes "Mmmuah". It is so cute!
I also finally saw her 2 new teeth peeking out yesterday. So, now we can see and feel them! Along with new teeth, we also have the new habit of biting!! Not so fun. She first discovered that she could bite last weekend. We were over at a friend's house, and their daughter was sitting in Addison's bumbo seat (which we are loaning to them), and Addison decided that she didn't like that so much. She tried to bite her on the stomach. Thankfully, she only got the little girl's shirt, but she got me 3 times yesterday. She bit me once on the knee and twice on the foot. I really hope she outgrows this soon....

Sick Girl...
I had to take Addison in to see our pediatrician today. This was our very first sick visit since she was born. She has been coughing quite a bit, not eating as much, and waking several times during the night for the last few days. When I went in to get her this morning her poor face was covered in snot, so I decided that she should probably go in.
Tim was recently diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis, so we wanted to make sure that she didn't have either of those.
Nope, turns out she has an ear infection and two more teeth coming in on top. Poor girl. So, it looks as though she needs some Motrin and a lot of love.
I will post some new pics later tonight.

Addison's One Year Check-up.....
Today we had Addison's 1 year check-up. She was such a good little sport! She needed 4 vaccinations and her blood drawn. Poor girl......
Anyway, at her 9 month check-up she weighed in at 19lbs 1 oz and 28 inches even.
Today, she weighed in at 19lbs 8 oz and 29 1/4 inches. She only gained 7 oz! We are definitely shocked, because she has a serious appetite and never misses a meal. Our pedi doesn't seem concerned at this time which is good.
Normally, this would be the visit where we are given the ok to turn her foward facing (1 year AND 20 lbs), but we are opting to do extended rear-facing, so we discussed that with our pedi today. She was all for it, and pleasantly suprised that our seat has a rear-facing limit of 35lbs. Tim & I had previously discussed this and decided that we will keep Addison rear-facing until at least 2 years of age. New studies have shown that it is safer, and she is happy rear-facing so why change anything?
Our girl is healthy & happy, who could ask for more??

One year later....
Happy 1st Birthday Addison!!
We celebrated Addison's birthday yesterday with my family, Tim's mom, and Tim's grandfather. We had a lovely time! Addison did better than we had expected with such a large group of people! I think she loved being the center of attention.
She got a bunch of really wonderful gifts. We are going to need to purchase a very large toy box soon. Her little toy bin isn't working so well any more. It seems we have toys covering every inch of our apartment. You can't move from one room to another without tripping over a doll, ball or shoe. Yes, Addison has discovered her shoe bin in her room, so I am finding it very difficult to find a matching pair when we want to leave the house. Silly girl!
I haven't updated this blog in so long, so I guess I'd better share a few little facts about our "bean". We aren't sure how much she weighs or how long she is... yet. We find out on Monday, and I PROMISE that I will update the blog before I leave for work Monday night. She checked in at 19lbs 10z and 28 inches at her 9 month appointment.
She can talk.... a lot! She says: Da da, kitty (keee), hi, hello, thank you (tank ooo), love you (uv ooo), and bug. Oh, and she can say Mama, but only does so on her terms. Her new favorite thing is to hold her hand (or anything else) up to her ear and say, "hello". It is so cute!
No walking yet, but she has started free standing for a few seconds at a time. Yay!
