I took Addison to see Dr. Bennett on October 4th because we needed to check and see how her "grey tooth" was doing. She did awesome! I was SO proud of her. No cavities either!!!

SLEEP! We have it!
Ry had a really rough night on Friday, so we were both overly prepared for a horrendous night last night. He has what we (along with what seems like a million other parents) have dubbed his "witching" hour. Except on Thursday, that hour turned into several hours! He screamed and screamed. We rocked, swaddled and shushed him for what seemed like forever. Eating didn't work, swinging didn't work. Nothing worked.
Last night, I decided that even though the night before was extremely rough, I was still going to attempt to swaddle him. What baby does like to be swaddled?? Addison slept the best that way. So, he got a bottle, a change of clothes, dry diaper and into the miracle blanket he went. He was not happy. The poor little guy is seriously like a mini hercules. You can just seem him squirming, pushing and kicking as hard as he can to get out of that thing. He is a strong little bugger.

Ry Ry Smiles
Ry smiled his first "BIG" smile at me yesterday (9/22). It definitely wasn't gas. He looked right at me and smiled. It is sort of bittersweet for me. It is quite possible that we are done having children, so each milestone seems like the beginning of the end for me. Don't get me wrong, I definitely realize that as he (and Addison) grow, there will be many more "firsts" but it definitely breaks my heart that the "baby" firsts will be no more.

Chubba Chubs
Ryne is growing at an alarming rate these days. I had to email our pedi (love this new feature by the way!) and ask for advice, because he is cosuming around 60oz of formula a day. This is 2x the recommended daily amount! In the short time that we have been home, he has consumed:
2- 12oz cans of Enfamil
6- 2 oz Ready to Feed formula bottles
2- 3lbs cans of Members Mark formula from Sam's club. (* A 3lb can lasted us 3 weeks with Addison!)
He is managing to stick to a strict schedule of eating about 5oz every 2 hours around the clock for about a week to a week 1/2 now. We just had our 1st 3 hour stretch on 08/07 and this was only because he was sleeping on Tim's chest.
A few more (almost) 1 month stats:
* Has outgrown most NB outfits
* Wearing size 1 diapers but they seem to be getting snug already. We should be switching over to cloth soon.
* Sleeps A LOT during the day. We try to keep him awake but usually to no avail.

Super Strength
So, Ryne has impressed us all by his super human strength. He already rolls onto his side to sleep! Then, when you put him on his tummy, he tries to crawl! He pulls up his legs and can actually move forward! He just can't pull himself up on his arms.
** I will try to post a video of it when I get a chance.
